Frequently Asked Questions
How do I save a webpage to AudioSnap?
There are three ways to save content to AudioSnap:
- Built-in Browser: Open AudioSnap and tap the "Browser Mode" tab. Navigate to any webpage and tap the "Make 🔊" button at the top. The page will be automatically saved to your "Saved Pages" for audio synthesis.
- Share Extension: From Safari or any other app, tap the Share button and select "Save to AudioSnap". The page content will be captured and saved.
- Chrome Extension [Coming soon]: If you use Chrome on desktop, install our extension. While viewing a webpage or Gmail message, click the AudioSnap icon to send the content to your account for processing.
All saved pages appear in the "Saved Pages" tab where you can manage and listen to them.
Why is synthesis slow on my device?
AudioSnap offers two synthesis modes with different performance characteristics:
- Remote Mode (Faster): Sends your content to cloud servers for processing. This is typically faster and more efficient, especially for long articles. However, it requires an internet connection and counts against your daily quota (around 1,200 seconds for free users, more for Plus subscribers).
- On-Device Mode (Slower but totally free): Processes everything locally on your iPhone. This mode is completely private and works offline, but synthesis speed depends on your device's processor. On-device synthesis processes text sentence-by-sentence and shows real-time progress.
You can switch between modes in Settings → Audio Synthesis.
How do I listen offline?
AudioSnap is designed for offline listening:
- Automatic Storage: All generated audio files are saved locally on your device and remain available even without internet access.
- Offline Snapshots: When you save a webpage, AudioSnap also creates an offline snapshot so you can view the original content offline.
- Progress Sync: Your playback progress is saved locally and persists across app restarts, so you can resume listening from where you left off.
- Background Playback: AudioSnap supports background playback with media controls in Control Center, so you can listen while using other apps or when your screen is off.
How is my data handled?
Your privacy is important to us. When using Remote mode, your content is sent to our servers for processing and then deleted. On-Device mode processes everything locally without any network transmission. For complete details, see our Privacy Policy.
